Annual General Meeting

Members of the Conservative Party of Canada residing in the North Okanagan-Shuswap Electoral District are invited to attend their Annual General Meeting on March 23 at 1 pm at the Centennial Hall in Armstrong. New members or renewing members may sign up at the meeting as well but only valid memberships prior to March 2, 2019 will be eligible to vote.

The purpose of our annual meeting is to hear reports of the activities of the past year here in the North Okanagan-Shuswap, hear an update on Party affairs nationally, elect additional Directors and the Executive for the coming year, and to report on election readiness in the riding.

We have three special guests with news and views for our members to enjoy –

Don Nightingale, BC’s National Council representative will update us on news pertinent to decisions made at the National level – and preparations for the election on October 21 this year.

MP Mel Arnold will share a synopsis of his many activities on behalf of all of us in the region, and what he’s hearing about our direction in Ottawa.

Our special guest speaker is Bob Zimmer, MP for Prince George—Peace River, and BC Caucus Chair. His riding has been impacted by the pipeline fiasco too; in addition, he is the Chair of the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics – an issue which gives him grave concern as to who is encroaching, and how, on our privacy.  Guests will definitely want to be updated on the impact proposed changes will make on them on our personal information.

Refreshments will be served.  Doors open at 12:00 for registration.

Those wishing to volunteer to sit on the EDA’s Board of Directors may contact

Linda Hawes – 250 515-1034 or Dena Short – 250 253-5434
